Branson: Fishing guide trips have been limited to Big Cedar cove and up into Long Creek, the bite is beginning to improve on the main lake as the shad kill has come to an end. Three distinct patterns have been producing in Long Creek; Jewel Pro Spider jigs with either a Paca craw or Tightlines UV Beaver has been the most predictable pattern, SPRO and Megabass stickbaits have also been effective, Wiggle Warts or Bandit 300 crankbaits are working as well. Most of the fish are on steep channel swing banks, pay close attention where rock breaks down to smaller rock and gravel. White bass have begun to run in Long creek as well, swimming minnows and XPS grubs have been effective when white are found.

Kimberling City: Branson fishing guides have done a little better in the mid lake area; stickbaits, jigs and umbrella rigs have been the ticket. Look to secondary points near channel swings in creek arms to be the most productive areas as fish move up from deeper water and the shad kill becomes a memory. Umbrella rig have been effective on steep main lake and secondary points with isolated wood cover. Tightlines UV shad or Keitech swim baits have been the best offering on an umbrella rig.

James River: The rain and snow on Sunday has brought run off into the James River, it hasn't affected the water temperature much but it has added some color and debris. Branson fishing guides have done best above Cape Fair, keying on steep banks on the river and up Flat creek. Jewel magnum finesse jigs with Paca chunk trailers have been the most effective presentation, work areas from the bank through the channel and back up to the flat.

White River: The White River continues to be the best fishing on the lake. Branson fishing guides have been doing well on the main river from Shell Knob on up to Eagle rock with Umbrella rigs on the end of channel swing banks where rock breaks down to chunk rock and gravel. Work the rig close to the bottom with Keitech swim baits or Tightlines UV shad for trailers. Back in the creek arms channel swing banks are just as important; on windy days wiggle warts and bandit 300 crankbaits have been hard to beat on calm days a Jewel Pro Spider jig is all you need to get bit.

Taneycomo Trout fishing continues to be unbelievable, a number of patterns have been working including jigs and stickbaits. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Trout magnets have made a return this week; fish pink / white or bubble gum below a float with about a six foot drop has been putting a number of rainbows in the boat particularly in the Branson Landing area.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, white or grey up around the trophy area to around fall creek, and sculpin and olive further downstream near Monkey Island and Branson Landing.
• A few better fish have been caught on small stickbaits; Rapala and Yozuri in gold or rainbow patterns have been best.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Just about any color will work but white and grey have been better closer to the dam and brown and olive better downstream.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats and drop offs with mixed colors of eggs was a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
