Branson: Fishing guides continue to see improvement in the Dam area of the lake, rising water levels and temperatures have fish moving shallower on to secondary points and toward spawning areas. Stickbaits and wiggle warts continue to produce on the lower end but a few other baits have been producing as well. XPS single tail grubs fished on secondary and main lake points have been putting fish in the boat particularly on windy days. Smoke, salt and pepper and milky salt and pepper have been effective on a ¼ oz. head. Split shot rigged UV finesse worms and French fries have also been working, drag them slowly along the bottom to draw strikes.

Kimberling City: Just like in Branson fishing guides have seen a dramatic improvement in the mid lake area. Stickbaits while still effective have not been the best option, wiggle warts and Bandit 300's are working well on 45 degree chunk rock in the larger creek arms and Jewel Pro Spider jigs have been very effective on secondary points. Look for fish to be staged and moving up to spawn; secondary points in the mouths of spawning pockets have been key areas. Cast Jewel spider jigs and split shot rigs toward the bank and work out to 15' deep to catch staging fish.

James River: Despite the cold front that came in over the weekend the bite up the James River has is still improving. The best baits have been a combination of Wiggle Warts and Jewel jigs targeting staging fish moving from deep to shallow water. Look for 45 degree chunk rock and mixed rock, ledge and gravel banks and points to be the most productive areas. The stained water of the James has fish holding very shallow, don't overlook water less than 3' deep as it has been holding better fish. The best areas have been transition areas when rock or ledges break down to gravel and large rocks are mixed into smaller rock or gravel. Branson fishing guides work these areas thoroughly with a Jewel jig paying close attention to any shady spots.

White River: The White River is still producing some great days of fishing; Wiggle Warts, Jewel Jigs, split shot rigs and grubs are all producing both numbers and quality from Baxter to above Shell Knob. Steeper banks have been the most productive with a Wiggle Wart, 45 degree channel swing type banks will produce both numbers and size, pay close attention to the ends of the swings where rock changes size and breaks down to gravel. Jewel jigs have been effective in these same areas but use them on secondary points near spawning coves as well; cast to the bank and work along the bottom to 15' deep. The same pattern has been producing with a split shot rig for Branson fishing guides; rig the split shot with UV finesse worms, French fries or UV hogs to draw strikes. On windy days swim XPS single tail grubs on windy gravel points to put a mixed bag in the boat.

Almost constant generation has the trout feeding well on Taneycomo, from the main channel to back into the feeder creeks both numbers and size has been very good over the past week. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Just about any color will work but white and grey have been better closer to the dam and brown and olive better downstream
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Cooper creek to below the Branson Landing.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, white or grey up around the trophy area to around fall creek, and sculpin and olive further downstream near Monkey Island and Branson Landing.
• A few better fish have been caught on small stickbaits; Rapala and Yozuri in gold or rainbow patterns have been best. .
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats and drop offs with mixed colors of eggs was a dominate pattern
The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
