Branson: Fishing guides have watched water levels rise 3 feet and the Corps of Engineers drop them back a foot in the past week. Rain water and current has added a significant amount of color to the all areas of the lake including the lower end. Despite higher water the almost constant generation and falling water has moved fish out of the bushes on to main lake and secondary points. Jewel Football jigs and Squirrel Head jigs have been the ticket when targeting these fish. PB&J or green pumpkin candy with a green pumpkin J-Tail have been the ticket with a football jig while UV Finesse worms and Zoom speed craws have been most effective on the Squirrel head. Most of the fish have moved out to 18' – 25' deep.

Kimberling City: Jewel Football jigs and Squirrel heads have been effective in the mid lake as well. Branson fishing guides have also mixed in Carolina rigged UV Hogs and Jig trailers to put a few more fish in the boat. Look to main lake and secondary gravel and mixed rock points to be the most productive areas from 15' – 22' deep. The deep bite is actually a little better in the mid lake than in Branson. Fishing guides have been using drop shot rigged UV Finesse worms, Chompers Drop shot worms and Robo worms on main lake points 25' – 35' deep.

James River: The stained water of the James River has fish holding shallower than anywhere else on the lake. Branson fishing guides have been targeting shallow wood cover with a buzz bait early and switching to Texas rigged Brush Hogs and 8" – 12" worms in and around shallow cover and brush piles from 3' – 15' deep. Most fish have been on or close to main lake points and secondary points in larger creek arms.

White River: Jewel Football jigs are still the number one choice for Branson fishing guides on the White River, main lake and secondary points from 18' – 25' have been holding most of the fish. The drop shot bite from Baxter to Campbell point has been excellent as well; look for most of the fish to be holding around 28' deep and moving deeper as the sun rises to around 35'. Most of the fish are holding right on or very close to the bottom. UV Finesse worms, Chompers Drop shot worms and Zoom Finesse worms have been the ticket, watermelon candy, UV green red flake and brown purple laminate have been the best colors,

The Corps of Engineers have moved a lot of water through the generators over the past week keeping current and the lake level high. . Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover have been effective from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Just about any color will work but white and grey have been better closer to the dam and brown and olive better downstream
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats and drop offs with mixed colors of eggs .
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Cooper creek to below the Branson Landing.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
