Branson: Fishing guides continue to target fish in deep water on the lower end of the lake. Drop shot rigged UV finesse worms, Chompers drop shot worms and ROBO worms have all been effective. Look for schools of fish to be holding in two distinct locations; long grave flats and main lake points that drop into deep water are holding fish from 32' – 50' deep and isolated tree tops on channel swing banks from 25' – 50' deep are both prime locations.

Kimberling City: Just like in Branson fishing guides are targeting fish in the Kimberling City area. Drop shot rigs have been very effective on the same locations as in the dam area. In addition Jewel football jigs are producing on gravel and mixed gravel points. Look for isolated cover on these points to find groups of fish. Brush and rock piles 20' – 30' deep are ideal cover, work a ½ or 5/18 oz. Jewel football jig slowly through the cover from different angles to draw strikes.

James River: The James River still has the best water color on the lake, the lack of generation through the dam has left the water in the James stained and kept fish relatively shallow. Brush and rock piles from 15' – 20' deep have been key areas; big worms like a 10" UV ripple tail worm, Jewel football jigs and deep crankbaits have all been effective tools for targeting fish in these brush piles. Remember fish will move in and out of these locations throughout the day and timing is critical for success. Branson fishing guides establish a milk run of four or five spots and return to them throughout the day to increase the number of fish caught.

White River: The bite in the White River has been great; drop shot rigs around the Baxter area, Jewel Football jigs and Carolina rigs around Shell Knob and big worms or crankbaits in the Kings have all been effective patterns for Branson fishing guides. Just like in Branson fishing guides are using UV, Chompers and ROBO worms on drop shot rigs around trees and gravel run outs. Jewel football jigs in and around isolated cover have been fantastic and big worms in shallow brush are outstanding in the Kings.

Generation remains limited to the afternoon to meet power demand, the Corps has been running four units for around three hours late in the afternoon and nothing the rest of the day. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Fall Creek to below Monkey Island.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes. .
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover from Cooper Creek through Branson.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
