Branson: Fishing guides continue to target bass deep on the lower end of the lake; drop shot rigged Chompers, Tightlines UV or ROBO worms have been the best offering. Look for the bulk of the fish to be suspending in tree tops from 35' – 55' deep over as much as 100', watch for fish to rise out of the trees on your electronics and drop baits to them. A few fish can be caught first thing in the morning on topwater baits; spooks, Sammies and Pop R's have been the best baits to throw at schooling fish.

Kimberling City: The same drop shot pattern will work in Kimberling City as in Branson. Fishing guides have been targeting fish with drop shot rigged UV, Chompers or ROBO worms in tree tops on the main lake and in the larger creek arms. In addition several fish have been surfacing first thing in the morning around larger boat docks in the creek arms, keep a spook or pop r handy as fish can come up at a moment's notice. Jewel football jigs have also been effective taking fish in the mid lake, Branson fishing guides have been using ½ oz and 5/8 oz jigs in PB&J or green pumpkin candy on gravel points with isolated rock or brush piles from 25' – 35' deep.

James River: The James River still has the best water color on the lake, Branson fishing guides continue to find fish shallower on the James than anywhere else on the lake. Big worms have become a strong pattern in brush piles on both the main lake and in the larger creek arms. Look for brush from 12' – 20' deep and work the big worm through each pile from different angles. Deep diving crankbaits have begun to produce on channel swing points on the main lake above Cape Fair, look for areas where the channel swing hits a point then find brush or rock piles. Run deep divers into the cover to draw strikes.

White River: Branson fishing guides continue to have the best results in the White River. The Baxter area has some great early topwater action followed by outstanding drop shot bite after the sun comes up. Further upstream Carolina rigged UV Hogs and French fries have been the ticket on gravel points from Campbell point to above Shell Knob, Jewel football jigs will also work in these areas. Big worms and deep crankbaits have been the ticket up the Kings River.

Limited generation has made the bite a little tougher than in recent weeks, changing techniques throughout the day has been necessary to catch fish. Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Fall Creek to below Monkey Island.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover from Cooper Creek through Branson.
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
