Branson: Fishing guides are scanning the surface every morning watching for surfacing fish, there is a good topwater bite early and late mostly on smaller baits like Pop-R's and Spook Jr. Look for with cover close to deep water to be the most productive. Once the sun rises drop shot rigs dominate the lower end of the lake; Tightlines UV finesse worms, Chompers drops shot worms and ROBO worms continue to produce in deep tree tops close to channel bends and on drop offs. Most of the fish are still coming from 35' – 55' deep and will hold tighter to the tree as the sun rises.

Kimberling City: The topwater bite is very strong early and late here just like in Branson, fishing guides are using POP-R's and Spook Jr's to target surfacing fish on main lake points and around larger community docks. Watch for surface activity to find the best locations. As the sun comes up a combination of drop shot rigs and Jewel football jigs have been effective on main lake and secondary points where deep brush and rock piles are present. Look for cover 25' deep or deeper to hold most of the fish.

James River: The shallow bite continues to be the deal up the James River, Branson fishing guides have been using a combination of big worms and Jewel Magnum jigs in and around shallow wood cover. Laydowns and brush have been the best targets, look for cover 12' deep or less to hold better fish. Jewel football jigs and Carolina rigged brush hogs have also been very effective on main lake "roll off" style points. Look for gravel points that have a pronounced drop on one side or the other to be the most productive locations.

White River: Topwater, drop shot rigs and Jewel football jigs are all effective on the White River. In addition Branson fishing guides have found a couple of different patterns; Big Swimbaits have been effective cast over deep trees and brush, cast the bait out and let it sink to just above the cover and retrieve with a slow steady retrieve. Both hard and soft swimbaits are working as long as you swim the bait just above the cover. Jewel Pro spider jigs and Squirrel heads have been effective around shallow docks. Look for docks on gravel and target areas from 3' – 15' deep concentrating on shady areas.

Much like the past three weeks generation has been extremely limited and the bite has been a little tougher. . Here are the top patterns working for Branson fishing guides this past week.

• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a float in creek arms from Fall Creek to below Monkey Island.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Live night crawlers on a drift rig cast upstream allowing the current to drift the boat downstream over flats is a dominate pattern
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover from Cooper Creek through Branson.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
