Branson: Fishing guides are still targeting fish shallow on the lower end of the lake, two strong patterns have developed that are making fishing both fun and productive. Topwater baits like Whopper Ploppers, Spooks and Sammy's have all been effective on ledge type banks with most of the fish coming less than 20' deep. Once the sun comes up move out slightly deeper and throw Jewel Squirrel heads or Magnum Shaky heads with UV Enkos, Beavers and Zoom speed craws. Work from the bank to around 18' deep to draw strikes.

Kimberling City: In addition to a strong top water bite in the morning Branson fishing guides have also been targeting fish in the back of larger creeks with buzzbaits. Black and white buzzbaits have been the most effective around wood cover in the back of the larger creeks. These same areas will produce with a Whopper Plopper or other top water baits. Much like in Branson, fishing guides will switch to Jewel Squirrel Heads and Magnum Shakey Heads once the sun comes up. Most fish are coming on ledge rock points and banks relatively close to the mouths of the bigger creeks.

James River: The bite in the back of the larger creeks and up the river has been outstanding, Branson fishing guides have been alternating black buzzbaits and Whopper Ploppers around schools of shad near wood cover to draw strikes. Once the sun rises a Jewel Magnum Casting jig with a Paca chunk trailer will pick fish off of shallow wood cover and boat docks. Work the shady side of wood and docks to increase the number of bites.

White River: The White River is still the most productive portion of the lake; a solid morning topwater bite, great jig bite and even a crankbait bite makes the White a blast right now. Branson fishing guides have been throwing Whopper Ploppers, Spooks and Sammys around standing timber and schools of shad to draw strikes form feeding fish. Buzzbaits toward the back of larger creeks have been producing tight to cover. Jewel Squirrel heads and Finesse football jigs have been key on ledge rock main lake and secondary points. On windy days Bandit 400's and Strike Kind 5XD crankbaits are effective on rock points and banks.

With Table Rock just below normal fall pool the Corps of Engineers has been generating a small amount of current daily which has kept the trout biting. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
