Branson: Fishing guides have watched fish begin their annual fall transition from deep to shallow this past week. A variety of baits have been effective as schools of fish have started to move up. Early and late largemouth can be found on ledge rock mixed with gravel points and banks chasing shad; topwater baits like a whopper Plopper and a spook have been effective especially around standing timber. Once the sun rises a Jewel Magnum Shaky head or Pro Spider jig worked on these same banks and points will produce a mixed bag of smallmouth and largemouth. Schools of spotted bass have begun moving up on main lake points and can be caught 25' – 35' deep on a Jewel Scuba Spoon.

Kimberling City: The same early and late topwater bite is happing in the maid lake just like in Branson. Fishing guides are targeting fish on ledge rock with spooks, Sammies and whopper Ploppers from the bank out to 20' deep. Fish are also being caught around larger boat docks on topwater as well. Look for community docks that extend over deeper water and cast a long shadow to be more effective. Jewel Magnum shaky heads and Finesse Football Jigs have been working on ledge mixed with gravel points throughout the Kimberling City area, look for most bites to come 5' – 15' deep.

James River: Bass Pro Shops Laser Eye and Booyah Buzz baits have been outstanding around shallow wood cover throughout the James River. Laydowns, stumps and bushes less than 5' deep are holding quality fish. Once the sun rises Jewel Magnum Shaky heads with Zoom Speed Craws or Tightlines UV Enkos and Jewel Magnum casting jigs with Paca Chunk trailers have been working around wood cover on ledge banks from 5' – 12' deep.

White River: The topwater bite up the White River has been fantastic; Whopper Ploppers, Spooks, Sammies and buzz baits have all been working. Watch for schooling shad close to the surface and fish won't be far. As the sun comes up Branson fishing guides have been targeting a mixed bag of smallmouth and largemouth on ledge rock points and banks with Jewel Squirrel heads matched up with a Zoom Speed Craw or UV Enko. Spotted bass are on the move in the White as well; schools can be found holding fairly tight to the bottom 22' – 35' deep on gravel points close to deep water. A jewel Classic Spin – X will catch them suspended and a Scuba Spoon will work on the bottom.

Limited generation has made the trout bite tougher over the past week. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
