Still some good fishing before runoff

Capt. William De Shaw
April 17, 2008
Gallatin River - Freshwater Fishing Report

There still is a good 2, maybe 3 weeks before its runoff time on the Gallatin, and Jefferson.
Some good fishing with the bigger flies and nymphs on the bottom. Early mayfly hatches, although sporatic will provide some good action. The Madison is a tailwater, so it's a little more predictable this time of year, especially if you want to fish dry flies. The Lower Madison will fish good until June.

Gallatin River Fishing Forecast:

Its a good, cool spring. Expecting a great summer on all SW Montana rivers!!
