Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Thursday January 16, 2014.
Sorry for the lateness of this report but in preparing for the Cleveland Sports Show, time just got away from me.
Friday's high temperature is supposed to be in the high 30s and then its back to the freezer again.
The bright spot for fishing seems to be on the Oak Orchard River and those doing the best are those who are float fishing thru the slower moving water and deeper pools.
With High water conditions and stained water its back to the orange and chartreuse color patterns in simulated egg presentations.
For those of you who fish the upper reaches of the Oak there is a new warning system for changing water conditions which includes flashing lights, a siren and a warning message.
Please be aware of these warnings both on the turbine and overflow sides.
The rest of the smaller tributaries within Orleans County have high greatly stained water conditions where fast moving water is available and the rest of the area is pretty well iced over.
Speaking of being iced over, ice fishing should be in full swing by the end of this weekend, but be sure to keep checking ice thickness as you venture out on the ice.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
