Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday November 26, 2014.
The Erie Canal is well into the de-watering process which means that the flows on Oak Orchard River are slightly above normal flow.
Fresh Brown and Steelhead/Rainbow trout are moving, providing some great opportunities for fishermen.
Water flows on Johnson, Marsh and Sandy Creeks remain on the low side but there are still some fish moving into the deeper pools
With this upcoming end of week and weekend being Thanksgiving and hunting season in full swing, fishing pressure should be low on all of the tributaries within Orleans County.
Most of the big snow storm occurred to the south of us so I don't expect a large influx of water flow from the snow melt that has occurred.
On the lower stretches of the Oak, Bass and Northern pike fishing is up and Perch fishing is down.
Speaking of Bass fishing, remember that after this Sunday(November 30) Bass season closes and it becomes catch and immediately release.
Lake Alice remains fairly quiet except for some Smallmouth bass fishing around the Kenyonville Bridge area.
I hope that all of you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, but don't eat so much turkey that you can't get out and enjoy the great outdoors.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the 2013 World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's make everyday a great fishing day, right here in Orleans County.
