Lake Ontario - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Wednesday June 24, 2015.
The strong winds of yesterday should have served to totally rearrange the waters of Lake Ontario, making today a hunting day on the big waters.
Temperatures on the inside waters are very deep with some action but the better lines seem to be around the 28 line.
Once you get into the 29 line and above it seems to be a wall of 40 degree water with 48 degrees on top and 43.9 down temperature.
With no hard winds in the forecast the lake should vastly improve over the next few days.
Speaking of Lake Ontario and the LOC Summer Derby which started on June 13th, after 11 days there is still not one salmon on the board.
Still another sign of the wild weather patterns we are experiencing?
On Lake Alice they are still taking some Bluegill and Crappie along with a good number of bass.
This Saturday is the Glenwood Lake Carp Derby from 7AM until 3PM.
All proceeds from this event go to support our local food banks so come out and join the fun while supporting a worthy cause.
Saturday and Sunday are also the DEC Free Fishing days for this year which means that you are not required to purchase a fishing license to fish either of these days.
From Point Breeze on Lake Ontario, the World Fishing Network's Ultimate Fishing Town USA and the rest of Orleans County, Let's Make Everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
