Oak Orchard Creek - Freshwater Fishing Report

Today is Monday October 17, 2011.
Well the water flow out of the discharge channel of the Oak is back to somewhat of a normal pattern yet there is still some water coming over the overflow side of the facility.
I heard a complaint from a Brown trout fisherman on the Oak that there were too many Salmon in the water and that made it hard to fish for Browns.
Others told me that this is the best fishing they have experienced in better than 10 years.
The fishing on the Oak is excellent for not only Salmon, but also for Brown Trout, Perch, Northern Pike and surprisingly Catfish.
Catfish are being taken mainly at the mouth, Perch all the way up to the bridges as well as Northern pike and Trout and Salmon the entire stretch of the Oak.
On Johnson Creek Perch fishing is good at the bridge closest to the lake, Brown trout up to the Kuckville Bridge and Salmon all the way up to the Lyndonville Dam.
Good runs of Salmon are being seen on both Marsh and Sandy Creeks.
Lake Alice at the Waterport Bridge is still the place to be for excellent Bluegill fishing.
With the weather providing some more water over the next few days, fishing conditions should remain excellent throughout the upcoming week.
Please don't forget that the Archers Club Catch and release Derby is this week, October 19th to the 21st.
It provides great food, great fishing and great prizes.
Come join the fun.
Let's make everyday a great fishing day right here in Orleans County.
