Near Shore fishing on Fire!

Capt. Matthew Trombley
April 19, 2012
Oswego - Freshwater Fishing Report

What else can we say about April but WOW!! I did my last trip on the Salmon River last week, landing a great mix of stream run Brown Trout & some great Steelehead! It's been a fantastic season on the river, but it's coming to an end quickly with low water.
The boat is out, preped & the inshore Brown Trout fishing is hot as ever! 20 to 30 fish days over the weekend with most browns being 6 - 10 pounds. The bonus has been the early catch of KINGS! Many charters have been hitting them just of the mouth of the Oswego River & out to over 60 ft of water. Hopefully a great sign of the Lake Season to come!

Oswego Fishing Forecast:

Well we are shifting gears & taking the boat down to the Hudson River Next Monday, to get ready for the awesome Striper fishing this river is known for. The River temps are just hitting that magical 50 degree mark & some early fish are arriving as we speak! We start our first Charters on May 5th & will be there through memorial day!We Will be doing some pre fishing next week, no doubt with the lack of heavy run off & flooding this year, we should be in for a fantastic Striper Run! We will keep the updates coming!

Target Species:

Striped Bass
