Lake Ontario, Salmon River Fishing Report

Capt. Troy Creasy
September 11, 2009
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Just when things are getting good Mother Nature throws another wrench in to the lap of Lake O trollers. Hard Southeast winds have rolled the water over and as I write this the water temperature in the Oswego harbor is about 49 degrees. We are iced out big time!!
Fish are scattered once again and many are in the shallow cold clear water and refuse to bite.
I never wish time away, but I am done on the lake in three days and could not be happier about it. River season 2009 here I come.
Not that the river is on fire by any means. Fish are scattered there as well and only a few are trickling in each day.
It will improve and we will get another big run any day.

Stay tuned.

Target Species:

salmon & trout
