New York Fishing Report for Lake Ontario and Salmon River

Capt. Troy Creasy
December 29, 2002
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

IT WAS A BLOOD BATH!

Where do you want to catch a fish today? They are everywhere. The Salmon and Oswego are both fishing good, with fresh fish throughout both rivers. The salmon river hot spots have been from the sportsman hole down to Rt 81. The Oswego has steelhead at the dam and lot's of browns in the Harbor.

The recent thaw has opened all the area creeks and some are loaded with fresh run steelhead. We had two fabulous days with multple hookups both days. (See Pictures on website). Fresh bags in Pink and Blue have ben doing most of the damage. Still, I don't see many people fishing. Plenty of fish and nobody is here to catch them. To the guys that weenied out this weekend, you missed a good one. The weather is beautiful and the fish have been pretty cooperative. Give us a call. We have plenty of days open right through January.
