New York Fishing Report for Lake Ontario and Salmon River

Capt. Troy Creasy
January 14, 2003
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Cold and Snow!!!!!!!!!!

We are getting pounded with heavy lake effect snow, high winds and cold temps this week. While we toughed it out and did OK over the weekend, temps are now plummeting and the river is turning to slush. There is over 60 inches of new snow on the hill but this is good news for snowmobilers and for the spring, as we need that water to raise lake levels and prolong the May steelhead season.

This is a good time to catch up on things around the house and prepare your tackle for the next time we get a warming trend.

I have just recently mailed out my Winter 2002 Newsletter. If you did not receive a copy and would like one, just e-mail me with your street address and I will drop one in the mail. Just to bring you up to date. High Adventure Sportfishing is currently taking reservations for Spring, Summer and Fall, Lake and River charters. Relieve some stress and spend the day on the water with family and friends. Our Summer Stress Strangler Special!!!!! Take $100.00 off any six, eight or ten hour charter from June 1st to July 15! Prime dates throughout the season are going fast.

For more information log on to our websites at High Adventure Sportfishing or Lake Ontario Outdoors Home Page. We provide fishing reports, daily catch photo's, local events, lodging, restaurants and all your travel and tourism needs. Good Fishing Troy.
