Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

What a crazy weekend! Saturday we saw record warm temps into the seventies and today it is blowing forty and snowing. Welcome to March.
The fishing on Saturday was excellent as we found fish just about everywhere we stopped. The Sandy's were high and dirty and the smaller streams were low and clear, but on the rise. You just had to keep looking. Chartreuse sacs continue to be the top producer. Last year pink was the best overall and this year they don't seem to want it.
The salmon river is running at 1200 cfs plus significant run-off
If we are going to get a big rune of fish this should bring them in.
Some fish are beginning to spawn so don't be afraid to work a heavy single hooked spinner through the gravel runs.
The Oswego is back up and there are a good number of fish at the dam and in the Harbor.
For those concerned about fishing near our nuclear plants, I will have the exact latitude and longitude that will be off limits in an upcoming report. I am told that the Coast Guard will also have the areas heavily marked with buoys.
High Adventure Sportfishing is currently taking reservations for Spring, Summer and Fall, Lake and River charters.
Relieve some stress and spend the day on the water with family and friends.
