New York Fishing Report for Lake Ontario and Salmon River

Capt. Troy Creasy
August 27, 2004
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Great Weekend on the Lake

Lot's of fish

Not much more to say about this season. I sound like a broken record. If the weather is good, we catch a limit of fish, if the wind blows we catch a few. If it blows hard, we sit on the dock. That is how the weekend went.

Friday was great as we limited out in about 4 hours with Chuck and Scott Garen from Ct. The afternoon found the weather to be wonderful and the fishingthe same.

Saturday am Chris Siegel, his beautiful wife Denise, along with an old friend Skeeter Levan and his beautiful wife Lisa, went 13 for 20 something, as the lake was flat and conditions were right. That afternoon the wind blew real hard and we only fished a few hours and couldn't hold speed, We were 3 for 4. Sunday am found the winds to be light once again and we went 12 for 17 in about 5 hours!!!!

It doesn't get any better. Sunday PM was more of the same as the fish continued to bite real good.

I am fishing 12 to 16 hours everyday. I will try to anwser all the e-mails eventually.

If you are looking to fish with me this season, I am afraid you are out of luck. I have a few days in late November and December for steelhead, but that is all there is. I know a few good captains that still have some open days on the lake, so get in touch with Shelley or I if you want to get in on the best salmon fishing action in years! Also if you didn't rebook for 2005, those days are going fast as well.
