Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

The salmon river is still running high at 1800 cfs, but is scheduled to drop soon. When this happens spawning fish will be found throughout the upper river in the typical gravel areas.
The fishing this week in the small streams continues to be OK, but the water has dropped and is real clear. The fish are spooky and are getting picked over.
I fished the Oswego Saturday and we went a solid 3 for 5. The largest was about 12 pounds. Howie and Jim toughed out the wind and cold and I found out for the second time that my digital camera doesn't respond well to cold weather. We didn't get many pictures.
They promised to send photos from their camera soon.
It looks like we are going to get a gradual warm-up this week. We need some color back in the small creeks before they will get good again. And we need the salmon to get down around 700 to 1000 cfs to make things productive there.
We had Spring during the winter months, so now that it is Spring, we are finally seeing winter. Go Figure. The good news is that this will extend our season well into late April. Don't give up, the best fishing of the season is yet to come.
Hang Tough!!
High Adventure Sportfishing is currently taking reservations for Spring, Summer and Fall, Lake and River charters.
Relieve some stress and spend the day on the water with family and friends.
