Salmon River Report

Capt. Troy Creasy
January 13, 2009
Salmon River - Freshwater Fishing Report

Another cold windy day on the slammin salmon, but that is only a taste of what it to come. My good friend John Williams was visiting from Montana and we had to find a few hours to sneak out on the water.

It was bobber down from beginning to end as the fish were on the feed. Blue egg sacs and glo roe beads took all the fish. We found then in deep holes and plenty of chrome in the faster pockets. This steelhead season just continues to amaze us all.

Looks like the fish are going to get a break over the next few days as high winds and bitter cold temps are on the way.

When this weather breaks I would be looking to get up here and join the fun.

Stay warm,
Troy

We started the day with a dead (almost) coho, blind in one eye and almost spawned out.
I still am seeing a lot of coho's.

We broke off a hog at the boat and missed a few, so I had to put one in the boat to get us started.

John then banged 6 and landed three in one spot.

We ended the day with a small bown and smiling faces.

Great day on the river. saw one other person and one boat, my buddy Chris, who was banging them as well.
