Despite Weather Issues Fish Biting at Wrightsville Beach

Capt. Richard Bennett
April 5, 2011
Wrightsville Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hi Folks,

This will be an abbreviated report. Weather conditions have played havoc with attempts to go fishing, but when the window appears the fish have cooperated well. The action is inshore and in the Gulfstream…both ends of the spectrum.

Now here is my report:

INSHORE: Water temps have come up nicely and reds and black drum have responded well to fresh shrimp. Most fish are hanging near heavy structure and are biting best on the falling tide.

Gulfstream: We have received reports of wahoo, blackfin tuna, some mahi and king mackerel.

UPCOMING: Look for fishing to improve daily as things settle down. A few flounder have already been caught and it will not be long before the first spanish show up. I would bet on later April and all of May as being fantastic for fishing. Please visit my website at http://www.rodmancharters.com/fishingphotos/main.php for the latest pics.

Until next time…LET'S GO FISHING!!!
