Wrightsville Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hi Folks,
Fishing has been a bit harder or off the past few weeks. Winds and seas haven't helped much, but we will soon be in that time when things cool and the weather is suppose to cooperate.Let's hope so anyway. Now here's my report:
INSHORE: Those with the patience have caught some nice flounder just off the beach, in the inlets and the river. The river has been producing some nice catches of trout. Reds on top water are biting early in the morning.
NEAR SHORE: As mentioned, there are some nice flounder at the near shore reefs. Spanish continue to be on a day, off a day. A few kings are around.
OFFSHORE: Kings and mahi are being caught from 10-25 miles out.
GULFSTREAM: Wahoo have started showing up and larger mahi are biting as well.
CAPE FEAR RIVER: again, some nice flounder and trout are biting in the river. Trout in the southern river; flounder in the middle river and reds in the upper river.
UPCOMING: FALL!!!
Until Next Time...LET'S GO FISHING!!!
