Rod-Man Report November 23, 2005:
Happy Holidays Everyone,
This is an abbreviated fishing report. Inshore fishing is and has been really great. Our weather refuses to cooperate much and is limiting ocean fishing. Nevertheless, fishing is still great and all and all we have a lot to be thankful for now and always. One note, I did a fishing seminar at the Oak Island Civic Center on November 12 and I really enjoyed meeting the nice folks "down there". They were a great group and we had a good time.
Inshore: Trout, trout and more trout. Catch on live shrimp, on curly tails (GULP), on Mirrolure Catch 2000. This is one of the best trout seasons in years. Black drum and reds are also providing action as well as a few small flounder. Get out and catch-em.
Near Shore: Gray trout and bluefish are hanging out around the near shore AR's and natural reefs too. Fresh cut bait and jigging spoons work well for both fishes.
Offshore: King macks are working at the temperature break, 68 degrees, about 18 miles out. Plenty of false albacore are feeding as well.
Gulfstream: For the few boats getting out, they are catching some wahoo and blackfin tuna.
Interest in next year's Rod-Man Fishing School is really taking off and I expect an early sell out like last year. Don't wait to reserve your seat now...lot's of great fishing information and door prizes, including TWO FREE CHARTERS. All the information is on my site: www.rodmancharters.com
Be sure to check out the pic of the week and see Capt. Lynn's nice grouper. Let me know and I can "hook" you up with a grouper trip with him...
