Wrightsville Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Rod-Man Report November 29, 2006
Hi Folks,
I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. I sure did. Fishing is very good right now. Specks are biting just about everywhere on just about any tide. You can catch them on live bait(shrimp) or artificials like GULP SW. The reds have somewhat moved to the ocean and are patrolling the beaches. We did catch a flounder this week, but he was undersize and we released him.
Now here's my report:
Inshore: As mentioned above the main thing going on right now is the trout fishing. We have been having double digit days almost every time we have been out. The jetty, the ICW and the creeks are holding fish.
Near shore: Reds are in the surf along with other fishes like blues, whiting and more.
Offshore: The king mackerel bite has moved out a bit to the 23 to 42 mile areas.
Gulfstream: No reports this week.
Registrations for my fishing school are picking up. They make a nice gift. You may view the details at http://www.rodmancharters.com/2007_annual_school.htm or feel free to give me a call at 910-799-6120.
I invite you to visit my website at www.rodmancharters.com We have done a lot of new and exciting things and more will forthcoming. Navigation is now a snap. We will be adding videos soon, both of fishing trips and educational.
