Guess Who's Here

Capt. Cory Godell

Bend - Freshwater Fishing Report

Deschutes River

Salmon Flies and Golden Stones
That's right, it's that time of year again. The Stone Fly hatch is already ramping up. The warm weather we've been having, has got the big bugs excited and a lot of them are on the move and heading for dry land.

We've already seen a few bugs up as far as the Trout Creek area and there are good numbers showing up around Maupin. Some fish are already locked in and gobbling them. But the bulk of the trout aren't fully keyed in on the Salmon Flies yet. It's just a matter of time.

It's still a few weeks before things really go bonkers.

Target Species:

Redside Trout

More Fishing Reports:

We offer several different fishing trips. We guide the Deschutes River from May through November where we do 1 to 5 day float trips. In the March and April we do day trips on the Owyhee River for big brown trout. Lastly we do day floats from December through April chasing winter steelhead on the Sandy River just outside Portland OR.
