Damn ! ONLY Big Tuna and BIGGER Marlin !!!

Capt. Bob Baker
September 19, 2010
Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

No matter if we have a rash of clients or not, the fish are here, and biting well.

Isla Montuosa continues to be the best all-around spot to find both of these trophies. Lots of bait around (bonitos), and the cast popper routine probably takes more tunas than any other technique. Lots of fun, many tired bodies, big smiles.

Took some mixed bag inshore fish from the Isla Ladrones, Roca Bandera area. Had a 36 lb. gag grouper on a butterfly jig that really was an epic battle.

We had great luck on WAhoo, fast trolling between Paridas and Isla Secas, but lost a lot of gear to multiple hits on the same bite. But, the fun never stops.

Got to watch the weather closely, but we´ve had some beautiful days mixed in with the wetter ones. The wind hasn´t really been a factor, so getting damp has been tolerable.
