Wide Open Bite Continues !!

Capt. Bob Baker
September 16, 2011
Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report

Even though passing storms can get you a little wet, the big tuna and black marlin refuse to stop biting!! Some great battles taking place on the end of spinning gear tipped with big oppers. Live bonito and blue runner taking both giant yellowfin and some bruiser black marlin.

As usual, Isla Montuosa , the Hannibal Bank, and Isla Ladrones are the prime spots.

Lots of WAHOO around, with Islas Secas, Ladrones, and Conreras giving up some beauties. Plastics will work, but there´s not much left to expensive lures after a couple of savage strikes, so Marauder -type deep trembers are a better bet. Bring plenty of WIRE !!!!

Inshore, some fantastic snapper, corvina, roosterfish, and a long(er) list of species are all biting well, as usual.

A few sails around, but not in big numbers until late November and the beginning of ´summer¨.
