Boca Chica - Saltwater Fishing Report
Action on yellowfin tuna, most of them taken on big surface poppers and/or butterfly jigs fished deep and both being retrieved at a VERY rapid pace, remains steady to excellent around the Hannibal Bank, Isla Montuosa, and about 10 miles outside Isla Ladrones.
Cubera snapper and various types of groupers are also being dredged up on our deep numbers around these fishing hotspots.
BILLFISH, to include blue and black MARLIN, and SAILFISH, are all in good numbers and biting readily on live bonitos, blue runners, and plastics.
Weather remains excellent, with some heavy afternoon and evening rains cooling the El Nino heated surface temps.
The only species experiencing a slight decline in numbers are the dorado, but there are still enough of them around to make things interesting around the evening grill.
Inshore, we've been taking some very nice ROOSTERFISH around Islas Paridas, and AFRICAN POMPANO are biting well on some of the deeper rock formations.
Looking forward to steady action on all fronts and for all species.
