Fajardo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Saludos from the Island of Enchantment. Plenty of Marlin Tails From The PR Trench.

Like every year as the summer progresses the water of the Atlantic, were the PR trench lays, get warm to the 82-84 degree range making the Blue Marlin activate and the bite will last from July to October.

The Tournament circuit on the north shore began with the moon of July with the town of Dorado Blue Marlin Tournament. 18 boats releasing around 10 fish without taking in consideration the fish that were raised and the pull the hooks. The Club Nautico of Arecibo Tournament had around 22 vessels and six boats releasing around 10 fish. Cangrejos Yacht Club held their tournament during the moon of August having a very successful tournament with 47 boats and around 30 fish released. Those three tournament concluded the triple header of the North. Three tournaments are still in line Club Nautico Vega Baja Tournament (the only killing BM tournament left on the island), The IBT63 and The Club deportivo del oeste BM tournamnet left on the local circuit.
For the last few weeks we have fished the Makaira Nigricans and are 5-3 on the blues and also catching a little of the mixed bag of TUNA also WAHOO.

The ABMT Boys Scout tournament also was held in red Hook with only two boats participating and during he same days Scrub Island Had its First oficial invitational tournament.
