Puerto Rico - San Juan Estuary

Capt. Till Brauer Mongil

San Juan - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello to anglers! Captain Till here with the latest information on the San Juan Estuary. Well, what can I say, Quicksilver Fishing Charters continues to dominate in the total tarpon catches for the past 2 weeks, with an average of almost 5 Tarpon per 4 hour trip.

Yesterday we had Nate Jansen and who’s friend Will, who released 9 Tarpon and fought a 90 to 100 pound fish for close to a half hour before he chewed through the leader.

We have been using alternate fishing methods to get more bites, therefore more landings , but you will have to fish with us to learn those techniques.

I want to ask prospective anglers that before choosing your charter services provider, do your homework by doing research in the internet, there are VERY FEW highly experienced Captain’s fishing FULL TIME for Tarpon in the San Juan area.

The size of the boat, does not matter in the San Juan Estuary, the longest run is only lasts 10 minutes, and there are No waves or rough seas to be encountered.
