Port Royal Sound Seatrout bite is hot

Capt. Rick Percy
November 8, 2012
Beaufort - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Broad River, Beaufort River, and Chechessee River have come alive with Speckled Trout. The trout are showing on all the old familiar drops, and about anywhere else you try. The falling tide has been terrific, simply finding a decent size feeder creek that is flowing into the main river. The fish are normally on the downcurrent eddy, lying close to the current.Live shrimp, mud minnows, and a wide variety of artificial plastics are all working great. Gulps in pearl or new penny are super. DOA's under a popping cork are also good. For our area, it is hard to go wrong with any green colored grub also. We have been very pleased with the size of the trout this year, as many keepers up to 22 inches are being caught. This bite should stay hot until our water temps dip down into the real low 50's.
