Redfish on the low water

Capt. Rick Percy
March 12, 2013
Beaufort - Saltwater Fishing Report

Our water temps in the low country continue to hover around the 53 degree mark. Our Redfish continue to school on the flats, and are most susceptible during low tide phases when we can sight fish the schools. Live mud minnows, soft plastic jerk baits, Gulps, and other artificials continue to produce. March is normally a transition month for us as the waters will typically start to rise the latter part of the month. Until they get to that 68 degree mark, which announces the annual Cobia arrival, Refish are pretty much the target species inshore. We have had our fair share of rain and winds to complicate the fishing, so we are looking forward to some gentler winds and temperatures in the near future to kick start our Spring season.
