November 2021 Charleston, SC Fishing Report

Capt. Zachary Litchfield
October 27, 2021
Charleston - Saltwater Fishing Report

November fishing in Charleston is when the inshore creek bite fires off. October is always the great month for larger bull reds, the month to be able to harvest some tasty inshore species that Charleston has to offer is November. Though there are those cooler days on the water with the winter winds settling in, we are still able to tuck back into creeks and oyster estuaries away from the wind and catch fish in big numbers.

When the air temperatures start to drop as we get into the fall months, the water temperature tends to stick around 60-65 degrees and thats ideal for Redfish (slot and over slot) Speckled Sea trout. Flounder, Sheepshead and Black Drum. We average around 20 fish per half day 0n an inshore fishing charter. With lower water temperatures, comes better water clarity which makes fish school together. They will hang around structure and shallow water oyster beds and sounds feeding on what they can staying protected from the only predators left around, porpoises. We always have clients during the season wanting to harvest a few fish for dinner and we also have guys wanting to fill the cooler, the time to fill the cooler is now! Sheepshead is always a good tasty white flaky meat inshore species that we are able to harvest in big numbers with big per person limits. We fish mainly inshore around the jetties and inshore docks or if the weather is nice in the ocean, we will target nearshore reefs for Sheepshead. We recommend a 3/4 day 6 hour inshore charter for them.

We have had a great year of fishing and look forward to the great fall fishing Charleston, SC offers. Book online or by phone and get out there with us for a great day of fishing. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call.
