Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN

STRIPED BASS are good drifting live bait along channel edges in 24'-30' or trolling bucktail jigs at mid to upper lake. LARGEMOUTH are fair inside of secondary creek points on 3/8 oz. pumpkin/chartreuse Terminator jigs, crawfish crankbaits and Motor Oil Devil's Tongues on split shot or drop shot rigs. WHITE BASS are good in the mouth of creeks in 20'-30' vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Horizon Pirk Minnows and 2" Lit'l Fishie Shad and casting #1 or #3 Terminator In-Line Spinners under diving birds.

Canyon Lake

LARGEMOUTH are good in 6'-12' over stumps and rock piles on 1/4 or 3/8 oz. Terminator jigs and craw trailers, Ice Tea Devil's Tongues and crawfish Rat-L-Traps. SMALLMOUTH are good in 4'-10' on flats with boulders or along submerged jetties on pumpkin or chartreuse Devil's Tongues, 1/8 oz. white/chartreuse Mini-T Terminator spinnerbaits and crawfish Creme Super Tubes. WHITE BASS very good in 24'-36 feet in upper lake vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Horizon Pirk Minnows and 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads. STRIPERS good in upper lake vertically jigging 1/2 - 1 oz. Pirk Minnows, 3" Lit'l Fishie Shads and white Curb's striper jigs.
