Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE LBJ
Bass are in their post-spawn period after just coming off the beds. For the rest of the summer and into fall we will be catching numbers rather than those in the 6 to 10 lb. category that we have over the past month.
Horseshoe Bay, Flying K and larger creeks will continue to produce. It's time to start throwing an 1/8
oz. "Tiny-T" Terminator buzzbait around boatdocks and rip rap-all day under clouds- and an 1/8 or 1/4 oz. white Terminator spinnerbait, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shad,
plastic jerkbaits & junebug Scoundrel worms. JR'S GUIDE
SERVICE is the oldest, largest and ONLY FULLTIME guide service on LBJ. www.jrguideservice.com Call Jim at

CANYON LAKE
LARGEMOUTH have moved down secondary channels and onto
8'-12' breaklines along ledges in main lake creeks and
onto hardwood laydowns and brushpiles upriver. In the lake early work an 1/8 oz. Terminator buzzbait, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shad or watermelon or Ice Tea Scoundrel worm around stickups and later target brushpiles, stumps and rock piles on the breaklines. SMALLMOUTH are moving out into 8'-15' of water in the lower end of the lake and holding on channel edges. 3" chartreuse
(Creme Lures) Super Tubes, pumpkin/chartreuse Devil's Tongues and 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads should be your choice. STRIPERS are feeding on shad VERY early over slow sloping lake points. Good choices for topwater
