CANYON LAKE
Fishing is good at night, very early and late in the day. From midmorning until 6:00 PM all species are suspended in 12'-24' & are inactive. During low light conditions there is usually good topwater action on sloping mainlake points before and right at first light
using 1/8 or 1/4 oz. Terminator buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, Pop R's, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads & #3 or #4
Terminator In-Line spinners. After daylight we start to work standing timber in 8'-12'of water using 4" pumpkin/chartreuse Disc Worms. 4" Scoundrel worms on wacky rigs or working Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs
along deep water bluffs. STRIPER FISHING is slow with the most success at night drifting liver perch or goldfish over humps in 45'-70' of water near the dam.
There is limited topwater action occassionally using
Spooks, 'Traps and Spit Fire topwater along main lake points, but it doesn't last long.
