Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE
Water clear; 63 degrees; 910.50': LARGEMOUTH are good in 6'-12' on creek points pitching a smoke/blue Super Tube, pumpkin/char. 4" Disc Worms(www.bigbitebaits.com)
and Ice Tea Scoundrel worms on wacky rigs. A white or silver shad 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbait or crankbait with produce when the sun is out. UPRIVER in the salt cedars and along cypress knees pitching a watermelon 4" Super Tube Heavy (www.cremelure.com), black/blue 7" Power Worm or watermelon 3/8 oz. Terminator Pro Secret Jig with pork trailer will produce some quality fish.
SMALLMOUTH are fair to good along breaklines of gravel points in 5'-12' of water on 3" smoke/blue Super Tubes,
pumpkin.char. tail 4" Disc Worms and brown Curb's hair jigs with Devil's Tongue trailers or just work the Devil's Tongue on split shot rigs.
STRIPERS and WHITE BASS are very good on days with a little sunshine through the clouds on the surface at mid-lake and in creeks over 40' using Berkley topwater walkers, vertically jigging Pirk Minnows and 2" or 3" Lit'l Fishie Shads. Follow diving birds to surface action, cut the big motor and ease to within casting distance.

LAKE LBJ
Water stained; 61 degrees; 824.97': LARGEMOUTH are good
along docks and rocky points with brush or stumps on 3/16 oz. Terminator Jigs and pork, watermelon/pumpkin 4" Super Tube Heavy and red shad or blue fleck 7" worms. Pumpkin 4" Disc Worms and purple Scoundrel worms on wacky rigs will prodcue along creek points in 3'-8'.
CRAPPIE are fair to good on bridge pilings in 20' using linve minnows, Curb's crappie jigs or Solid Tube
jigs.

LAKE BUCHANAN
Water clear; 60 degrees; 1014.72': STRIPER fishing is VERY GOOD with 20"-25" fish being boated on live bait, trolling Curb's striper jigs and vertically jigging Pirk Minnows. Watch for diving birds to lead you to surface feeding stripers and try a Red Fin topwater, white/gray Curb's bucktail with plastic trailers or 3" plastic shads.
LARGEMOUTH are good along recky points in 5'-8' on watermelon/red Scoundrel worms, watermelon Devil's Tongues and crankbaits. Also, pitching a brown/pumpkin 1/4 Terminator Pro Jig and pork trailer, a pumpkin 4"
Super Tube Heavy or 4" watermelon Disc Worm to laydowns and stumps in 3'-8'.
