Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE
Water stained; 55 degrees; 909.20'
LARGEMOUTH are fair to good in 5'-14' on points of creeks and pockets on 4" gray/blue flake slidingweight
crawfish (www.slidingweight.com), 4" pumpkin/chart. tail Disc Worms (www.bigbitebaits.com) and 3/8 oz. black/red flake Terminator Finesse Jigs.
SMALLMOUTH are good on points of gravel flats in 6'-14'
using chartreuse Devil's Tongues, 1/8 oz. brn/pumpkin
Curb's hair jigs with Devil's Tongue trailers for a slow fall.
STRIPERS are good to very good up to 25" under diving birds on Red Fines and SpitFire topwaters. Subsurface
lures such as 3" Lit'l fishie Shads and 'Traps are producing better. But best of all is vertically jigging
1/2 to 1 oz. Pirk Minnows and 3" plastic shad bodies.
WHITE BASS are very good with limits to 15". Pirk Minnows, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads, No. 3 Terminator In-Line spinners all will produce.

LARGEMOUTH are fair to good in 6'-12' along rocky points, rip rap and in brushpiles. Our most productive lures have been a pumpkinseed 4" slidingweight crawfish (www.slidingweight.com), 1/8 or 1/4 oz. Terminator Finesse Jigs with pork trailers and brn/blk
Curb's hait jigs with a matching Devil's Tongue trailer.
