Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE LBJ

Water lightly stained; 54 degrees; 824.95':

LARGEMOUTH are very good to 8.4 lbs. in 3'-6' of water (moving even shallower to spawn this month) along rip rap in creeks and canals on 1/4 oz. Texas Red Terminator spinnerbaits, watermelon/red SlidingWeight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com) or a watermelon 4" Super Tube Heavy (www.cremelure.com).

Stripers are fair to good below Inks Dam on live bait, 3" Lit'l Fishie Shads, 1/2 oz. Rat-L-Traps and white Curb's bucktails.

White Bass are good in 10'-20 feet along gravel or sand bars on channel turns trolling Shad Raps and casting No. 3 Terminator In-Line spinners, Tiny-Traps and 1 1/2" Lit'l Fishies.

Water clear; 54 degrees; 909': Largemouth are good to 7 lbs. on crawfish Rat-L-Traps, pumpkin/chartreuse Disc Lizards (www.bigbitebaits.com) and gray SlidingWeight Craw Fish(www.slidingweight.com) Upriver try pitching 3/16 oz. Terminator Finesse Jigs with BBB craw trailers, plastic jerkbaits and watermelon Scremer Worms (www.cremelure.com)

Smallmouth are good in the submerged treelines in 8'-15' on Terminator Finesse Jigs, smoke 3" Super Tubes, jerkbaits and smoke/blue twin tail grubs.

White bass are making their "run" up the Guadalupe River from the lake. Trolling no 5 Shad Raps, No. 1 or No. 3 Terminator In-Line Spinners or white grubs is producing. Live bait under corks fished around Rebecca Creek is taking lots of big males waiting for the females to show up.
