Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake LBJ
Water lightly stained; 63 degrees; 824.90':
LARGEMOUTH are good in 3'-6' of water on flats and boat dock walkways in creeks and pockets pitching a watermelon 4" Super Tube Heavy, watermelon or pumpkin
6" Disc Lizard (www.bigbitebaits.com) and jerkbaits. Try a white/chartreuse 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbait,
Rebel Wee R or Bomber A on rip rap or crawl a 4" SlidingWeight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com) down long points.
WHITE BASS are very good trolling a No. 5 Shad Rap and casting a No. 3 Terminator In-Line spinner, Tiny Traps
or jigging a 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnow or 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads.
CRAPPIE are good in 1'-3' brushpiles on blue/white 1/32
oz. Solid Body Crappie Tubes (www.cremelure.com) and white 1/32 oz. Curb's Crappie jigs and minnows.

CANYON LAKE
Water clear; 62 degrees; 909.20':
LARGEMOUTH are good in 3'-10' on 4" smoke Super Tubes,
6" pumpkin/chartreuse BBB Disc Lizards and suspending jerkbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Upriver, working a watermelon 4" Super Tube Heavy, blue fleck worms and
floating Rat-L-Traps on flats and through stands of salt cedars in ditches and creeks is producing.
SMALLMOUTH are good over submerged trees in 8'-14' on pumpkin 3/16 oz. Terminator Finesse Jigs, 3" chartreuse
Super Tubes and suspending jerkbaits.
WHITE BASS are finalizing their spawn way upriver in 3'-5'. Take them with minnows, white Curb's crappie jigs, Tiny Traps and No. 1 Terminator In-Line spinners.

LARGEMOUTH are good around the Apple Orchard in 3'-6' on 4" watermelon Super Tube Heavy, 4" or 6" watermelon
Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) and Devil's Tongues
on drop shot rigs. Try dragging a 4" Slidingweight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com) along breaklines of shallow ditches and backs of channels.
STRIPERS are good in the upper end in 5'-8' on suspending jerkbaits, Lit'l Fishie Shads and Rat-L-Traps.
