Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake LBJ
LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 63 degrees; 824.90':
LARGEMOUTH are very good to 10 pounds in 2' to 7' on
pumpkin/chartreuse 6" Disc Worms, watermelon/red 4"
SlidingWeight Craw Fish and Ice Tea Scoundrel worms
on whacky rigs. Silver Shad 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits and Finesse Jigs with Killer Krawdad trailers are working along laydowns on breaklines.
WHITE BASS are good in rivers in 8' to 12' along channel turns in Shad Raps, No. 3 Terminator In-Line spinners and 1 1/2" Lit'l Fishies.
CRAPPIE are very good from 2' to 4' deep on white Curb's crappie jigs, 1/32 blue/white Solid Body Tube Jigs and minnows.

Canyon Lake
CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 65 degrees; 909.30':
LARGEMOUTH are good to 6 pounds in 3'-6' feet in creeks and pockets using pumpkin/chartreuse 6" Lizards (www.bigbitebaits.com), 4" watermelon Super Tube Heavy (www.cremelure.com) and purple 6" Scoundrel worms on whacky rigs. Watermelon/red 4" SlidingWeight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com) and Spider Grubs are producing when worked across gravel flats. Crankbaits such as a Wee R or Bomber A are good along chunk and boulder rock banklines in 5'-8'.
SMALLMOUTH are fair over submerged trees in 8'-14'
suspending jerkbaits, 3/16 oz. Terminator Finesse Jigs and smoke 3" Super Tubes.
STRIPERS are fair in 40' of water on main lake points on live bait, Pirk Minnows and Curb's striper jigs.
WHITE BASS are good in 10'-15' feet upriver along channel turns trolling Shad Raps, casting Tiny Traps and No. 3 Terminator In-Line spinners and live minnows. These fish are returning to the lake from upriver and are aggressive.
CRAPPIE are good in standing timber along channel edges
on red/white 1/32 oz. Solid Body Crappie Tubes, white or chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
CHANNEL CATFISH good in Fisherman's Corner on punch bait.

Lake Buchanan
LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 65 degrees; 1015.97':
Largemouth are good in the Apple Orchard and creeks
in 3'-6' on Gold Shiner 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits, 6" watermelon/chartreuse BBB Lizards and plastic jerkbaits. There are concentrations of bass in the back of creeks where whacky rigged June Bug Scoundrel worms and Tiny-T (Terminator) jigs are good.
STRIPERS are good in 8'-14' of water in the upper end
of the lake on suspending jerkbaits, Rat-L-Traps and live bait.
WHITE BASS are good in 8'-12' feet along bluffs above Morgan Creek up to and beyond the mouth of the river on Shad Raps,Tiny Traps, Pirk Minnows and white grubs.
CRAPPIE slow to fair in 8'-12' over brushpiles on Solid Body Crappie Tubes, white or chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
