Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 65 degrees; 824.82':

Largemouth are fair to good in 2'-5' feet on a 4" watermelon Super Tube Heavy, 6" pumpkin/char. or watermelon/pepper BBB Disc Lizards, white Tiny T spinnerbaits and 1/4 oz. crawfish Rat-L-Traps. Whacky rigs with watermelon 4" or 6" Scoundrel worms will produce in brushpiles on creek points.

White Bass are fair on Shad Raps, No. 1 Terminator In-Line spinners, live minnows and Lit'l Fishies.

Crappie are good in 1'-3' in brush and trees using blue/white Creme crappie tubes, white Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.

CANYON LAKE

Water clear; 909.24'; 66 degrees:

Largemouth are good in 4'-8' using pumpkin/char. BBB lizards, 3" smoke Super Tubes and Ice Tea Scoundrel worms on Whacky rigs over flats in the back of creeks and pockets. Drop shotting a chartreuse Devil's Tongue, white 1/4 oz. Terminator spinnerbaits and a watermelon 4" Super Tube Heavy will produce along chunk rock banklines which are holding 2-5 lb. bass.

Smallmouth are fair to good in 8'-15' working suspending jerkbaits, 3" Super Tubes and Tiny-T jigs and smoke twin tail grub trailers in submerged trees.

Stripers are fair on live bait, 1/2 oz. Curb's striper jigs and 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows.

White Bass are fair returning to lake on Shad Raps, No. 3 Terminator In-Line spinners, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and live minnows along 8'-12' breaklines on channel turns. Crappie are good in 6'-10' on minnows, Creme Lures 1/16 oz. crappie tubes and white Curb's crappie jigs. Channel Catfish are good in Fisherman's Corner on punch bait.

LAKE BUCHANAN

Water clear; 65 degrees; 1016.18':

Largemouth fair around Apple Orchards in 2' - 4' on Pumpkin/char. tail BBB lizards, junebug Scoundrel worms on Whacky rigs, a 4" bluegill Super Tube Heavy. Rat-L-Traps and suspending jerkbaits are producing in the creeks.

Stripers are good above The Willows drifting live bait trolling Curb's striper jigs, jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows and 1 oz. Rat-L-Traps along breaklines in 14 to 20 feet.

White Bass are fair in the upper end trolling shad Raps, jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows and 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and live bait.

Crappie are slow on minnows.
