Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN
Water clear;76 degrees; 1016.32':
LARGEMOUTH are fair in 6'-12' on main lake points
on a Rebel Deep R crankbait and working a 3/4 oz. Terminator Heavy T spinnerbait along ledges in the creeks and pockets. A whacky rigged watermelon/red Scoundrel worm, or watermelon/pepper BBB 4" Disc Worms (www.bigbitebaits.com) and split shot rigged Devil's Tongues are producing in 3'-5'.
Early and late topwaters and plastic jerkbaits along stumps and stickups on 4'-6' breaklines.
STRIPERS are fair to good drifting live bait and trolling or jigging 1/4 to 1/2 oz.Curb's striper jigs or in 32' of water. Early morning topwater action on Rat-L-Traps, Spooks and Red Fins on lake points.
WHITE BASS are fair jigging Pirk Minnows and white grubs trolling Shad Raps along 20' lake points. Early morning topwater action on Tiny Traps and Torpedos.
CRAPPIE are slow on minnows.

CANYON LAKE
Water clear; 80 degrees; 909.31'
LARGEMOUTH are fair to good in 15' of water using
Bomber A's, slow-rolling a 3/4 oz. Blue Shad or white
Terminator spinnerbait and 3" watermelon Super Tubes.
Upriver, watermelon a 4" Super Tube Heavy watermelon-
pepper 4" Disc Worms and 1/8 oz. white/chartreuse
Tiny-T spinnerbaits are productive.
SMALLMOUTH fair to good over 12'-20'on Devil's Tongues,
3" smoke Super Tubes and twin tail grubs. Watermelon
Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com),
pumpkin/pepper BBB Disc Worms (www.bigbitebaits.com)
and Spider Grubs are good along points of bluffs with rock piles.
STRIPERS are fair drifting live bait in 40' along main lake bluffs. Early morning topwater bite on Rat-L-Traps and Zara Spooks.
WHITE BASS fair early on Rat-L-Tops, Terminator In-Line spinners and Tiny Traps .
CRAPPIE good tight to trees on Mini Tails, Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.

Water stained; 78 degrees; 824.80'
BLACK BASS are fair along rock points early on silver 1/4 oz.Terminator buzzbaits (www.terminator.com), Pop R's and Rat-L-Traps. Pumpkin/chart. claw Sliding Weight Craw Fish and Spider Grubs on creek points. Pitching a watermelon 4" Super Tube Heavy (www.cremelure.com), 4" watermelon/pepper BBB Disc Worm or whacky rigged Ice Tea Scoundrel worm to boat docks, overhanging trees and laydowns can produce some quality bass when they are holding tight to cover.
WHITE BASS are good at night under lights on 1/32 oz Curb's crappie jigs. Early topwater bite on clear Rat-L-Tops and Tiny Traps.
CRAPPIE are good over 14' foot brushpiles in 1/32 oz. Curb's crappie jigs, Tiny Tubes and minnows at night.
