Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 82 degrees; 1015.65':

LARGEMOUTH are fair to good very early along sloping flats in 3' to 6' on topwaters, silver 1/4 oz. Terminator buzzbaits and Ice Tea Scoundrel worms on Whacky rigs. Later, try a watermelon/red 4 inch Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com) and watermelon 4" BBB Disc Worms (www.bigbitebaits.com) along ledges in 8'-15'

STRIPERS are fair over humps in 45' of water near the dam drifting live bait or trolling Curb's striper jigs. Topwaters and Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) will produce early along points.

WHITE BASS are fair in 25 feet vertically jigging Pirk Minnows,2" Lit'l Fishie Shads or drifting live minnows.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 82 degrees; 1015.80':

LARGEMOUTH are good very early in 2'-6' of water on 1/8 oz. Tiny-T buzzbaits, silver/blue chuggers or poppers and Whacky rigged grape Scoundrels worms (www.cremelure.com) .

SMALLMOUTH are fair in 12'-20' using a pumpkin Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com), 3" smoke Super Tubes on jig heads, 4" Disc Worms and rootbeer 3" BBB grubs on.

STRIPERS are fair drifting live bait in 50' over treelines along bluffs. Early topwater action on Rat-L-Traps and Red Fins.

WHITE BASS fair early along lake points on clear Rat-L-Tops, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and minnows.

CRAPPIE to 14" are fair tight to trees on blue/white Mini Tails, 1/16 oz. and minnows.
