Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water stained; 84 degrees, 1018.80':

LARGEMOUTH are fair early in shallow grass and flooded willows using 1/8 oz. Tiny-T buzzbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), 2" gold Mystic poppers and white/clue/char. 1/4 oz.Terminator spinnerbaits. Later work a 4" Pro Blue BBB Disc Worm (www.bigbitebaits.com) or a 4" Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com) along ledges in 5-14 feet.

STRIPERS are fair to good in 20'-28' drifting live bait, vertically jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows or Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com)and 3" Lit'l Fishie Shads in surface action along points is producing some of the larger fish being caught.

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; N/A; 943.84'

This lake remains closed "until further notice" by the authority of Comal County Judge. Property and business owners around the lake are questioning the authority of County Danny Schell to ban all boating activity from the lake. If you have concerns or questions about the "authority" to place the boating ban on a Corps. of Engineers lake contact Judge Schell at (830) 620-5569.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 84 degrees; 824.86':

BLACK BASS are good along rip rap and grass using 3/16 oz. watermelon Terminator Finesse Jigs (www.terminatorlures.com)and Carolina rigs with a watermelon/red Sliding Weight Craw Fish. (www.slidingweight.com). Early morning action along channel breaklines of creek points using Blue Shad Terminator spinnerbaits, 1/4 oz. Rat-l-Traps and crawfish Wart Hawgs.

WHITE BASS are good but small at night on 1 1/2" Lit'l Fishies,white Curb's crappie jigs and Terminator In-Line spinners.

CRAPPIE are good in brushpiles on minnows and chartreuse 1/16 oz. Curb's crappie jigs.
