Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report
LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 55 degrees; 1018.67'
BLACK BASS are slow in 8'-12' of water using a white 7/16 oz. Tungsten Terminator spinnerbait (www.terminatorlures.com), Texas rigged Chameleon Scoundrel worm (www.cremelure.com) and crawfish Frenzy diving crankbaits. Crawling a pumpkin/chart.
Sliding Weight Finesse Craw Fish along boat ramps and bluff ledges and pitching Texas rigged 4" watermelon
Disc Worms (www.bigbitebaits.com) are also productive.
Stripers are good in 28'-40' drifting live bait, trolling 1/2 oz.white striper jigs and casting 1/4 oz. white Curb's bucktails with BBB grubs for trailers.
White Bass are fair along channel breaklines.

Largemouth are fair in 8'-18' on laydowns and buckbrush
at the mouth of feeder creeks pitching Creature Baits (www.terminatorlures.com), pumpkin/red Yamamoto Hula Grubs (www.canyonlakefishing.com) and 4" pumpkin Sliding Weight Finesse Craw Fish. Work a Texas rigged
4" black/blue tail Disc Worm (www.bigbitebaits.com) down secondary creek points 6'-20'.
Smallmouth are good to 3 lbs. over rock piles in 12'-20' on Curbs brown hair jigs, pumpkin Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) and 1/8 oz. Terminator Finesse Jigs.
Stripers are fair on sloping points using 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows and white 1/4 oz. Curb's Bucktails with BBB grubs.
White Bass are fair in 54' of water on Pirk Minnows.
Crappie are fair on live minnows and 1/32 oz. blue/white Tiny Tubes (www.cremelure.com) over brushpiles and along standing timber.
