Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water clear; 50 degrees; 1018.89' :

Black Bass are good to 5 pounds in 8'-12' of water along bluff ledges using watermelon 3/16 oz. Terminator Finesse Jigs (www.terminatorlures.com) with pork trailer, black/red flake Screamer worms (www.cremelure.com) and 4" black/blue tail BBB Disc Worms (www.bigbitebaits.com)

Stripers are good under birds drifting live bait, trolling 1/2 oz. Curb's striper jigs and vertically jigging 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows in 30'-40' of water.

LAKE LBJ: Water clear; 824.98'; 51 degrees:

Largemouth are fair to good over brushpiles in 6-10 foot channels on black/blue Snap Back creature baits (www.terminatorlures.com)on Carolina rigs, 1/4 oz. crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com)and 4" junebug BBB Curl Tails (www.bigbitebaits.com).

White Bass are good under birds around the power plant on 1/4 oz.Pirk Minnows, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and 1/8 oz. Tiny Traps.

Largemouth are good upriver pump./grn Senkos (www.canyonlakefishing.com) smoke/red Super Tubes (www.cremelure.com) and watermelon 4" BBB Disc Worms.

Smallmouth are fair to good along bluff ledges on smoke/silver flake Sliding Weight Finesse Crawfish (www.slidingweight.com) , watermelon/gold Flake Yamamoto Flat Worms (www.canyonlakefishing.com) on drop shot rigs and 3" crawfish Super Tubes.

Stripers are fair on mainlake points in 50'-70' on 1/2 oz. Curb's Striper jigs, 1 oz. blue Pirk Minnows and 3" Lit'l Fishie Shads.
