Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 911.82' ; 55 degrees:

Largemouth are good to 6 lbs.tight to stickups in 6'-10' using 1/8 oz. black/red Terminator Finesse Jigs (www.terminatorlures.com) with Uncle Josh pork trailers (www.unclejosh.com), black/blue Snap

Back creature baits and camo Whacky rigged Scoundrel worms (www.canyonlakefishing.com) . All plastics rig and stay in place much better when you use a drop of Pro's Soft-Bait Glue (www.prosoftbaitglue.com).

Smallmouth are good along bluff ledges and over rock piles in 8'-20'of water using 1/8 oz. chartreuse Tiny-T spinnerbaits, pumpkin Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) on drop shot rigs, 3" smoke Super Tubes & Sliding Weight Finesse (www.slidingweight.com) Craw Fish.

Stripers are fair but scattered in 30'-40' in creeks and upriver on live perch, 1/2 oz. blue Pirk Minnows and 3 inch Lit'l Fishie Shads.

White Bass are very good upriver in 2'-4' of water on Shad Raps, #3 Terminator In-Line Spinners and live minnows.

Crappie good in 15'-20' tight to standing timber using white 1/16 oz. Curb's crappie jigs, 1/32 oz. blue/white Tube Jigs and minnows.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water stained; 1018.87'; 51 degrees

Black Bass are fair 12-20 along creek channel breaklines using black/blue Snap Back (www.terminatorlures.com) creature baits, watermelon/red Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com) and Senkos. A drop of Pro's Soft Bait Glue (www.prosoftbaitglue.com) on your plastics hold them in place.

Stripers are fair drifting live bait, trolling 1/2 oz. Curb's striper jigs in 30' of water around The Willows.

White Bass are good in 20' in creeks and the main channel on 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows, 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and Tiny Traps (www.rat-l-traps.com)

Largemouth are good to 6 lbs. in 8'-12' along rip rap and creek channels using a Texas Red Terminator spinnerbait (www.terminatorlures.com), crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-traps.com) and live color Scoundrel (www.cremelure.com)worms around docks. Try rigging your soft plastics with a drop of Pro's Soft Bait Glue (www.prosoftbaitglue.com) to ensure more bites and better hook sets.

White Bass are good on creek points and flats under birds on chrome/black Tiny Traps, 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows and 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads.

Crappie are fair over brushpiles in 18' using pink/white Tube Jigs 1/16 th oz. chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.
