Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE LBJ: Water stained; 824.80'; 64 degrees:

Largemouth are good in 410' along docks and over sand flats on crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com), pumpkin/green Snap Back lizards or jerkbaits (www.terminatorlures.com) and a Super Tube Heavy (www.cremelure.com).

White Bass are good, but mostly smaller males, up the Llano and Colorado arms using # 3 Terminator In-Line spinners, trolling Shad Raps and Tiny Traps.

Crappie are fair over brushpiles in 10'-15' using blue/white Tube Jigs 1/16 th oz. chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and minnows.

Channel Catfish are good on dip bait, worms and minnows

Yellow and Blue Catfish are good on trotlines using live perch and goldfish.

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water stained; 1019.23'; 61 degrees

Black Bass are good in Horseshoe Bay and north side coves 5'-15' feet using Texas rigged watermelon Snap Back lizards (www.terminatorlures.com), crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) & Ice Tea Scoundrel worms (www.cremelure.com)on Whacky rigs and watermelon Snap Back lizards.

Stripers are fair drifting live bait, trolling 1/2 oz. Curb's striper jigs in 28 feet of water around the Willows and uplake.

White Bass are good in the back of creeks on 1/4 oz. Lit'l Fishie Shads and Tiny Traps.

Largemouth are good to 8 lbs. over flats and along breaklines in 3'-9' using Snap Back plastic jerkbaits (www.terminatorlures.com), crawfish Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and silver shad Terminator

spinnerbaits. Upriver, our clients are catching bass in the 3-6 lb. range flipping a 1/4 oz. pumpkin Terminator jig w/matching Uncle Josh pork trailer (www.unclejosh.com) and a watermelon Super Tube Heavy

(www.cremelure.com).

Smallmouth are good to 5 lbs over rock piles and submerged jetties in 10'-20' using pumpkin Devil's Tongues (www.cremelure.com) and Sliding Weight Finesse Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com)

Stripers are slow on live perch, 1/2 oz. blue Pirk Minnows and 1/2 oz. white Curb's bucktails.

White Bass are very good upriver in 2'-5' of water on Shad Raps, #3 Terminator In-Line Spinners and live minnows.

Crappie good over brushpiles in 15'-20 ' using white 1/16 oz. Curb's crappie jigs, 1/32 oz. blue/white Tube Jigs and minnows.
